Triton Water Group, an established innovator of low-maintenance energy-efficient desalination plants, and Ingemain, engineering specialists in industrial facilities maintenance, have joined forces to promote and maintain Triton’s line of compact desalination plants across the country of Morocco.
Under the new agreement, Ingemain will use their long experience in the Moroccan market to promote innovative Triton solutions for extracting drinking water from seawater. Ingemain will also offer their proven engineering expertise to provide cost-effective maintenance and management services to owners of Triton compact desalination plants installed in Morocco.
Reliable, low-cost maintenance is a key element of the continued growth of Triton’s desalination business. This new agreement with Ingemain will provide expert maintenance services to our Moroccan customers while at the same time forwarding Triton’s integrated sales and maintenance strategy and fuel our future expansion in the important Moroccan market.”
-Pedro García, President and CEO Triton Water Group
Desalination plants are typically required to operate at all times. Triton compact desalination plants are designed with the ability to be remotely monitored 24x7, thus eliminating the need for full-time onsite maintenance personnel and lowering operating costs.
Ingemain has extensive experience maintaining a range of industrial facilities across Morocco. The engineering firm, with the motto “Repair! Don’t Replace!,” employs specialized coatings and techniques to drastically reduce typical industrial maintenance costs. The new partnership with Triton will add compact desalination plants as a new line of business for Ingemain and will allow Triton to further expand into Morocco.
Background
Morocco is a country with no large reserves of oil and gas, but does have an ample supply of wind and sun that can be tapped as sources of renewable energy to power desalination plants. In Morocco, desalination plants are used to produce potable water for diverse purposes in addition to drinking water, including phosphate mining and irrigation.
Desalination is the process used to convert saltwater to potable water. The seawater desalination market is increasing dramatically. Global population growth combined with shrinking water supplies due to pollution, overuse and climate change has resulted in unprecedented demand for new sources of fresh water. From 1995 to 2007, desalination production grew 600%. By 2010, 14,450 desalination plants were operating in 100 countries. It is estimated that by 2015 the industry as a whole will double in size to $143 billion.
